To be honest, you can read Tress without reading any other cosmere story and still fully understand and enjoy it. To be honest, the way Brandon writes, there’s probably a bunch of Cosmere connections not just for the released books but the future books.While a lot of this is speculative, I think the Stormlight timeline is pretty solid: five year gap between 5 & 6, then three year gaps between 6 through 10. Less solid is the projected conclusion of the Cosmere itself in 2052–that could be shortened or extended by ~5 years easily. The mystery of Trell is very well done (so far). While reading about Spook’s increasingly unhealthy use of tin I started to consider what people in our world would do with heightened senses.I think a Roshar/Scadrial war is the end goal of the Cosmere, and the final Mistborn series- the one that Sanderson says will be a space opera- is the series where it will take place.
