Basically it lets you get a regular 2nd level class feat instead of spending it on a multiclass feat. It's more limited since you can't use it for non-multiclass archetypes but is generally going to be valuable. Overall, though, I think rogue is the best multiclass for increasing thaumaturge DPR, followed closely by monk.The weakness is specifically to the Thaumaturge's strikes. A monster can have both weakness and resistance at the same time. If you are fighting say, a devil with a resistance to physical damage except silver and you use Personal Antithesis you will also add a weakness to your strikes. So lets say your attack deals 10 damage and it resists 5 ... Thaumaturge can very easily go into Champion for heavy armor. Also allows you to get Lay on Hands and a powerful Reaction later.
